Your new role:

As the VP of Engineering, you will have the opportunity to define the key success measures and steer the Engineering, QA and Infrastructure Teams towards high impact and sustainable delivery of our suite of sales & marketing technology solutions. You will be a core driver and facilitator within the global tech organisation and will be a direct influence for success.
What will keep you challenged:
  • Scaling the technical capabilities of the tech organisation through leadership, mentorship and strategic alignment 
  • Ensuring a robust setup across the engineering and infrastructure teams through setting up and maintaining proper development processes and best practices 
  • Being responsible for organisational health, hiring and retention as Valve continues to grow 
  • Partnering with the Sales, Operations and Product Teams to define key strategies and ensure that metrics and targets are implemented, monitored and achieved
  • Maintaining cohesiveness across the organisation
  • Fostering a high performance and inclusive team culture with a focus on growth and personal development
Which skills/traits contribute to your success?
  • Proven track record as tech leader/manager ideally with a background in data products, API's, integrations, SaaS, GDS, Fintech or Blockchain technologies
  • A combined results-driven mentality and a high-level of business acumen that will enable Valve’s cross-functional teams to our vision and key strategic objectives
  • Technical background in or previous work with Distributed Architecture
  • Extensive experience building, mentoring and managing (remote-friendly) engineering teams
  • Excellent coaching and performance management skills
  • Willingness to travel to meet with offsite engineering teams 
  • Excellent English communication skills, both in writing and orally
  • Previous software development experience in Kubernetes, Express or React is considered a plus
